Climate Change Action Plan
In October of 1993, the Vice President played a critical role in
helping the Administration develop a comprehensive national strategy
for reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by the year 2000.
The resulting Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) addresses a major
environmental concern in a way that saves government and industry
money, spurs economic growth, and creates jobs. CCAP is the
cornerstone of the U.S. response to the threat of global climate
change -- an issue which will continue to dominate the international
environmental, energy, and economic agenda.
